Project launch of Collective Earth Stories in the beautiful greenhouse as part of the EcoCity Summit exhibition at the Barbican Arts Centre.
Collective Earth Stories highlights the deep connection people have with the earth. Participants from across the world have been invited to share soil samples, which are received and processed by CABI, a laboratory specializing in soil conservation. The study takes an anthropological form, giving voice to communities who have been decimated by climate change, resulting in an installation gathering soil samples and stories from around the world.
The project is open to participants. You are invited send a soil sample from your favorite place on earth and a share a photograph and an audio recording about your connection to that specific place.
INFO: Collective Earth Stories is a project by Stephanie Romig-Orr in collaboration with Central Saint Martins, UAL, Spatial Practices Climate Forum and CABI with advice by DEFRA.
