UAL's Carnival of Crisis presented by the Climate Emergency Network demonstrated that the arts can – and must – respond to the climate and ecological emergency. Creative action was manifested and mobilised through a season of events taking place in parallel with the COP26 Climate Summit hosted by the UK in the context of the global environmental crisis.
As part of UAL’s Carnival of Crisis, Year 1 MArch students were asked to contribute to the parade: Murmuration. By viewing the forest as a prism through which to understand and address the dual crises of climate change and biodiversity loss facing our urban environments, students were asked to collaborate on the design and production of a performance at the parade.
